    Gifts in a Jar-Fragrant Bath Salts Mix

    Gifts in a Jar day 4, I have been sharing Spa gift ideas and soon will be sharing the cookies in a Jar recipes.

     

     

    Frangrant Bath Salts Mix

    Makes 2 cups

    1 Cup Borax

    1/2 cup sea salt or epsom salts

    1/2 baking soda

    1/2 teaspoon lavender soap fragrance

    1/4 teaspoon orange soap fragrance

    1/4 teaspoon sandalwood soap fragrance

     

    1. Combine borax, sea salt and baking soda in mixing bowl and mix well. Stire in Fragrances. Pour into decorative 1-pint container with tight-fitting lid.

    2. Attach gift tag with  raffia or ribbon.

     

    Fragrant Bath Salts

    Pour 1/2 cup Fragrant Bath Salts Mix into tub of running warm water and swish to dissolve.

    Herbal Soak Mix for Sore Muscles

    makes 2 cups

     

    1 cup dried rosemary

    1/2 cup bay leaves

    1/2 cup dried sage

     

    1. Combine all infredients in a small mixing bowl and mix well. Pour into decorative 1-pint container with tight-fitting lid.

    2 Attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon.

    Pour 1/2 Cup Herbal Soak Mix into Knee-high Stocking; knot and set aside. Bring 1 Quart water to boil in medium saucepan; turn off heat. Place stocking in water and steep 10-12 minutes. Remove stocking and pour into warm bath.

     

    Oatmeal Facial Scrub Mix

    Makes 2 cups

    1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats

    1/2 cup cornmeal

    1/2 teaspoons jasmine soap fragrance

    1. Process all ingredients in a blender or food processor until oats are very finely ground. Pour into a decorative 1 pint container with a tight fitting lid or into a cellophane bags. 

    2. Attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon

    TIP: If your gift recipient has especially sensitive skin, you can make an even gentler scrub by substituting baking soda for the cornmeal.

    Pour 1 teaspoon Oatmeal Facial Scrub mix into palm of hand. Moisten with a little warer and gently massage into skin with fingertips in a circular motion. Rinse off immediately with plain water.

    Gifts in a Jar- Zesty Lemon Body Scrub Mix

    Day two of the Gifts in a Jar Recipes, today it is Zesty Lemon Body Scrub and Lavender-Chaomile Facial Steam Mix. I grow my own Lavender and Chamomile,  however you can find both of these dried at a herbal store or craft store.

     

     

    Zesty Lemon Body Scrub Mix

    Makes 2 cups

     

    1 cup Epson salts

    1/2 cup coarse Kosher Salt

    1/2 cup light olive oil

    1 teaspoon lemongrass soap fragrance

     

    1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well. Pour into decorative 1-pint container with tight-fitting lid.

     

    2. Attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon.

    TIP: Be sure to use light olive oil so its scent doesn’t overpower the lemongrass fragrance. You may substitue canola oil for olive oil, but the mixture will be thinker. Buy soap fragrances at art and crafts stores.

    Zesty Lemon Body Scrub

    Gently message a small amount of body scrub into skin with a damp washcloth or sponge, using a circular motion; rinse. Use caution, can make the tub or shower slippery, and do not use on open cuts.


    Lavender-Chamolmile Facial Steam Mix

     

    1 cup dried Chamomile

    1 cup dried lavender flowers

     

    1. Combine chamomile and lavender in mixing bowl and mix well. Pour into decorative 1-pint container with tight-fitting lid.

     

    2. Attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon.

     

    TIP: Buy dried lavender flowers at arts and crafts stores. For dried Chamomile, yse chamomile teas: simply open and empty the tea bags. It will take 40-50 tea bags to equal 1 cup.

    Gifts in a Jar- Victorian Milk Bath Mix

    Last Christmas I shared these recipes, they are fun and easy to create a quick lovely homemade gift for a loved one. I will start sharing these again, hoping to share one a day.

     

    Victorian Milk Bath Mix

    2 Cups powdered milk

    1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

    1/2 cup dried lavender flowers

    1/2 to 1 teaspoon plumeria or other floral soap fragrance

     

    1. Process powdered milk and oats in blender or food processor until fine; transfer to medium mixing blowl. Stir in lavender flowers and fragrance. Pour into decorative 1-pint bottle or jar with tight-fitting lid.

    2. Attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon.

     

    TIP: Buy dried lavender flowers and soap fragrances at arts and crafts stores.
