The Flip-pal has been the best tool I own for scanning photos, it is so portable, and easy to use. I have owned other portable scanners and never had the wonderful results I have had with this.

I love my little flip pal, it is tiny enough to go with me anywhere and yet powerful enough to capture the beauty of the photos I scan. I keep it near my laptop at all times, as a busy mom of 4 kids, working from home and homeschooling, this gadget has really been a plus. Takes less than a minute to scan any picture, and have on my laptop for the my Genealogy Project. I scanned this photo of my Grandparents at my Great Grandparents house around 1949 last fall while I was visiting my Aunt. The photo is 63 years old, my Aunt is the adorable baby in this photo. The scan was great, but the photo had been damaged a lot. After using Photo Elements 10 I was able to clear it up a lot to see the faces and even photos in the background. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My favorite scanner is honoring the cause with a lovely pink bag and cover with the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon. This last weekend I found an old photo of my little sister and I around 1980, we were so little then and the photo is showing it’s age. Here is the scan of the photo. I will be able to now restore it in Photoshop and preserving this digital copy of a fun moment at our Grandma’s house.

The Flip-Pal is my favorite scanner, it was so easy to use while I was visiting my Aunt and going through our old family photos. I loved that I could see the final result on the little screen and that it has an auto power off to conserve battery use. We got 579 photos scanned, a few post cards, and the clarity of the photos were amazing. The opportunities that have now opened up for me are limitless, I can take this everywhere with me to scan whatever genealogy, or scrapbooking task I am working on.
It’s been a joy learning more about Researching Genealogy through Google Earth; the Kit of the Month that Family Tree University is still offering. Lisa Louise Cooke is the author and explains in detail how to better maximize your research through Google. She recently met with Flip-pal and reviewed the benefits of this portable scanner. You can take Flip-Pal absolutely everywhere. You won’t have to worry about not getting copies due to size or shape of the documents. Nor will you need cords, just an SD card, batteries and on your way to preserving your research.
